VIVO PER LEI is taken to lead the field home. She has finished closer to the winner in each of her last three starts, the latest when third over this C&D, 1.25L behind the winner. She made good late progress that day and from her cozy draw four, she can earn her second career win. VIRIDIAN RUBY has only had the two runs to date, finishing third on debut and then showing the expected improvement to win by a head. She showed plenty of pace on that occasion and although drawn widest in barrier ten, she should be viewed as a big runner here. SHIFTING PATH is a seven-time winner who delivered a well- timed effort to win his last start over this C&D by 0.4L. He jumps from a handy draw three and gets the services of a 1.5kgs claiming apprentice. RHYTHM KING is seldom far off the action. He tried to go from jump to wire last time and from a wide draw nine, Richard Fourie is likely to employ similar frontrunning tactics today.
