This is a weak Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ADMIRAL'S RANSOM from the Vaughan Marshall stable. He ran a decent race in his last start over 1200m at Kenilworth. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Admiral Kitten tries the 1400m and if seeing out the extra furlong on offer, he should be the one to beat. SKY GOD should have finished closer last time as he had to be steadied at the 200m mark. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a massive threat. TOP QUALITY is an unraced son of Dynasty from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this type of field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. GLOBAL ALLY was in need of his debut effort over 1200m at Kenilworth. The son of Global View would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close to winning.
