VANAKKAM is better than her last start in the Listed Ridgemont Devon Air Stakes. Her two efforts prior to that outing were encouraging. The drop to 1000m may suit her well and she gets the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew. If putting her best foot forward, she may be the one to beat. BELLIGERENT made the expected natural improvement when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern, but Gavin Lerena is booked to ride. The daughter of Willow Magic is a progressive type and if jumping on terms, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. ENGELANDPARK was in need of her debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement. PERFUME POWER ran a fair race when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes retains the ride, and she may have more to come.
