OBSIDIAN was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D last time. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Erupt takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. WRITTEN IN STONE challenged strongly when second over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. ORIENTAL BOUQUET finished 1 length behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. SAIL THE SKY had excuses in his last two starts. He has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He runs well for Gavin Lerena and can earn another cheque.
