CLIMATE CONTROL was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over 1400m at the Vaal. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be at home over the mile. JP van der Merwe takes the ride and from his good draw of two, he can shed his maiden tag. NATIONAL STAR set the pace in her last start over this C&D, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Shoemaker. She is back against maiden company this afternoon and should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. SHIPS AT SEA'S last three starts have been decent. He stayed on nicely when finishing third over this distance at the Vaal last week. He makes his course debut and will be staying on at the finish. GOOD COUNCIL finished 3.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Oratorio will enjoy the rise to the mile and can run into the first three.
