FLOWER'S RIDGE has shown good improvement in his last two starts on this course, with the blinkers fitted. He challenged strongly in his last start, but found one too good in the form of Wind Sock. The son of Flower Alley is in a good space and should shed his maiden tag. BORN A STAR got going too late when going down by a head over 1000m on the polytrack last time. The son of Admiral Kitten is suited to today's distance and it is encouraging that Richard Fourie retains the ride. If this run has not come too soon, he should pose a threat. SOFT SPOT had excuses on debut over 1000m. He found betting support that day which suggests that he had been showing good work at home. The son of Soft Falling Rain returns from a 19-week break, during which time he was gelded. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive. JAQUAR CAT ran a decent race on debut over this distance on the polytrack. He was slow into stride, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of The United States would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression.
